This page explains what to expect when you see Dr Samadi. If anything is unclear, our team is happy to help.

Your first consultation

Your first visit is a chance to understand your eyes and talk through your options. Please bring:

• Your insurance card

• A list of the medicines you take, including eye drops

• Your current glasses, and contact lenses if you wear them

Dr Samadi will ask about your eye health and general health, and your eyes will be examined in detail. This may include scans and measurements.

Before you leave, Dr Samadi will explain what he has found and the treatment options that suit you, and answer your questions.

Preparing for cataract or glaucoma surgery

If you and Dr Samadi decide surgery is right for you, we'll give you written instructions to help you prepare. These cover your usual medicines and any eye drops to start beforehand, as well as what to do on the morning of surgery. Please tell us about any health conditions, allergies or blood-thinning medicines, and follow the instructions you're given.

You won't be able to drive yourself home after surgery, so please arrange for a family member or friend to bring you and take you home.

On the day

Your surgery takes place in the clinic. It is done under local anaesthesia, so you stay awake but your eye is numbed and you shouldn't feel pain. Our team will look after you throughout, explain each step, and make sure you're comfortable. Before you go home, we'll go over your aftercare and give you written instructions to take with you.

Aftercare

Dr Samadi will give you written aftercare instructions, and you can read more on our Cataract Surgery and Glaucoma pages. Please call us promptly on 345-946-4944 if you notice increasing pain, increasing redness, or worsening vision.

Insurance

We accept CINICO and all major insurance plans. Cover differs between plans, so we recommend checking with your insurer what your plan includes before your appointment or procedure. Our team can help if you have questions.
